We have a structured ESG agenda, focusing on (i) Responsibility in Consumption and Production, (ii) Diversity and Inclusion, (iii) Fighting Poverty and (iv) Health and Well-Being.
Among the various initiatives on these four fronts, it is worth noting the reduction in the consumption of plastic in our packaging: in 2016 we started a project to develop new packaging techniques and find alternative materials to bubble wrap, air pad and tape plastic, which were the main plastic materials present in our packaging at that time. As a result of this project, after 4 years we were able to significantly reduce the use of these materials in our operation, replacing them with others based on paper and cellulose. This innovation generated a 76% reduction in our consumption of plastic, which means an annual reduction of more than 122.7 tons of this material.
